In 2020 alone, Kauvery Hospitals received more than a 1000 applications – this roughly translated to 180 candidates for one job post. Sorting all of them manually was an arduous process. The management of Kauvery decided to use information technology to reduce the burden placed on their recruiters and also to enhance their recruitment process.
This innovative approach was especially useful during the COVID-19 pandemic when it aided the quick recruitment of qualified and experienced personnel capable of handling critical situations. By roping in AI based solution, the reach of our requirements increased and as a result we were able to recruit from a rich talent pool. The expedited hiring process brought down the costs associated with recruiting. We were also able to identify potential bottlenecks in the recruitment process and sort them out. All of this in turn contributed to our single-minded objective of providing patients with superior medical services.

In a huge multi-speciality set up, every day throws up new challenges and nothing stumped us more than the COVID-19 pandemic. This was a new virus we had never dealt with before; it was unchartered territory and time was of essence. While patients coming for treatment could not be put on hold, we had a duty towards our staff as well to equip them properly to deal with the situations the pandemic presented. There was no time for the traditional classroom-based approach and we had to come up with an effective learning system. As a result, Koach was formulated.
Koach was a platform that not only facilitated learning among the front-line workers, but it also made it possible for them to communicate among themselves and share experiences. Knowledge is indeed wealth especially when dealing with an unknown virus and this means of sharing vital information was extremely helpful for our staff. To increase its reach, we made it multi-lingual and thus accessible to all levels of staff. With Koach, our in-house training material could be broadcast to our entire workforce. The management too had ease of access to daily reports.

Wireless Biosensor Patches To Monitor Patients
Kauvery Hospital has always been a frontrunner in encouraging and adopting technological innovations which we feel will benefit the patients. One such instance is the adoption of a wearable biosensor patch to monitor patients who have been shifted out of the ICU.
This wireless biosensor patch that is attached to the patient’s chest will monitor vital signs such as the ECG, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen levels. By this continuous monitoring, any deterioration in the patient’s condition will be noted immediately and prompt treatment can be provided.
