Starting And Running A Good Hospital Successfully

Health care is a basic need and the right of every person. Our country has a huge population and healthcare is a constant need. Did you know that India has one hospital bed for 879 people? This is far below the world average. According to research conducted by WHO, our country needs 80,000 more hospital beds every year to meet and keep up with our healthcare demands.

This healthcare need was the inspiration for a passionate doctor from Trichy who wanted to make healthcare available to everyone. As a teen, Dr. Aravindan found the Life Sciences utterly fascinating at school and this fascination and passion motivated his decision to become a doctor. Through hard work and sheer determination, he has fulfilled his dreams of providing healthcare to everyone with the Kauvery Group of Hospitals.

It is not easy to start a hospital. There are multiple medical laws and ethics that have to be followed. There are very strict guidelines and eligibility criteria. Like minded doctors have to be brought on board. The staff has to be passionate and caring. The hospital has to provide all kinds of health care.

The challenges don’t end there. Once the hospital is up and running, maintaining the quality is important. A well run hospital has to continuously enhance the accountability of health practitioners, minimize medical errors, maximize effective care and improve medical outcomes.

Dr. Aravindan has taken all these challenges in his stride on his mission to make great healthcare affordable with the Kauvery chain of hospitals.

His particular desire has been to alleviate pain and suffering in the elderly, through quick, painless surgical solutions and to this end he has increased the focus on geriatric care, an oft overlooked field of healthcare.

Dr. Aravindan has set himself the goal of expanding the services of the Chennai Branch of Kauvery Hospital to reach the four corners of Chennai. He hopes to open 4 more branches in Chennai, taking the bed count from 200 to 1000. And given his past successes, it is just a matter of time before this doctor achieves his goals.
